I’m Behnaz Fazelian, an Iranian multidisciplinary artist based in Tampere, Finland. In 2016, I founded the BehDesign artisanal brand in Tehran, and I have continued it in Tampere since 2020, where I create unique and practical artworks.
Art has always been a sanctuary for me, offering calmness and relaxation through boundless creativity. While running a business wasn't my initial goal, it has become a means to sustain my passion for full-time artistry.
Born and raised in Isfahan, a city celebrated for its rich handicraft tradition, I developed a deep appreciation for practical art forms. My mother, a dedicated art enthusiast, practiced art as a hobby, and my father’s entrepreneurial spirit further influenced my path.
As a teenager, I studied handicrafts, and later, I pursued fine arts at Soore University in Tehran, Iran. These experiences shaped my artistic vision and honed my skills.
I work with various materials, including painting, pottery, and textiles. My inspiration comes from the beauty of nature and everyday life. I enjoy visiting museums and galleries, where the art I encounter continuously fuels my creativity.
